SHOBOY GATT THE BOMBBEATS
Nigerian recording artist Shoboy is making strong waves within the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DC/MD/VA) areas of the United States of America. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he arrived in Los-Angeles, California in December 1987 and recorded “Super Soul Sister” and “Let’s Dance” in 1996.
He later moved to Washington, DC in
1997 to work on an IT contract. Still relentlessly pursuing his music
he re-recorded his previous hits “Super Soul Sister” and “Let’s Dance”
with the addition of other hit songs “Bad Boy”, “Kickin’ it live”,
“Bomb Beats”, and “I L.O.V.E. You”, “My Home”, “Naija Vibes”. With
these songs and their remixes compiled into an Extended Play (EP) CD
titled “Bad Boy”, the EP CD has been in heavy rotation on the market
since December 2003.
His song “My Home”, a song about
missing his homeland of Nigeria and Africa as a whole, features other
Nigerian artists: PA J and Alejo. Five of his songs were included in
the highly demanded mix-tape “AM 419 Under G Volume 2”, while “Bad Boy”
was used in the trailer of the Nigerian movie “The Impostors”. In
addition to his solo career Shoboy also a member of the band Kingdom
Vibes, which plays popular Reggae, Zouk, Calypso, African songs at
various upscale restaurants and night clubs in the Washington, DC metro
area.

In August 2004, Shoboy received a Certificate of Award from the Tabernacle church and Izora Restaurant /Night Club.
This was given for his performance at the Izora Restaurant /Night Club in Silver Spring, Maryland; during a benefit concert that helped raise funds for a clinic in Akwam Ibom, Nigeria.
Other achievements to Shoboy’s credit, include:
